Bolo
Platform: Commodore 64
Gametype: Undefined
_________________________

Two tanks on a large territory fight against each other, a clone of the old Tanks classic. As extra option you have to shoot towers and report each destruction to your home base. When the area is cleaned of towers you advance to the next level. Ugly graphics, but an okay game play.

The objective of Bolo is to maneuver your tank through the maze, seek with your radar and destroy 6 enemy bases. Each base is continuously manufacturing a variety of opponent tanks. The tank types vary from the primitive drone version encountered early in the game to the faster torpedo tanks and the deadly hunter/killer tanks. The intelligent assassin tanks will pursue you at high speed by the most efficient route.

Trivia

This game was created based on a license of the sci-fi classic series Bolo: Annals of the Dinochrome Brigade by Keith Laumer. The game Ogre was also based on this license.

Bolo never had the name of the game designer/programmer Jim Lane anywhere in the game or on the packaging because Jim worked at Microsoft at the time. Moonlighting!
